Report a message
Touch and hold the message (or right-click it), then choose Report message. Automata opens an email to our safety team at safety@sentientwave.com with the message filled in. You can add details, and you send it yourself.
Block a person
Touch and hold one of their messages, then choose Block this person. Blocking hides their messages and stops their alerts and calls on that device, and they are not told. Blocked people are listed in App settings › Privacy › Blocked people, where you can unblock them.
Workspace admins can also remove a person from a workspace with Remove from workspace.
What happens to a report
Reports go to safety@sentientwave.com, which our team reads every day. We review each report and reply when we need more information.
Automata has no accounts, and SentientWave has no access to anyone's messages, workspaces or other data. Everything stays on people's devices. The report you send is the only information we receive, so please include anything that helps us understand what happened.
What we can and cannot do
Because we hold no data about the people who use Automata, SentientWave cannot see conversations, identify the people in them, ban a person from Automata, or delete messages from anyone's devices. The tools that stop unwanted contact are in the app: you can block a person, and workspace admins can remove them from a workspace.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation
SentientWave prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any sexual abuse, exploitation or endangerment of children in Automata. This includes sharing, requesting or creating such material, and grooming or sextortion of minors.
- We review every report of child sexual abuse or exploitation we receive.
- When a report contains apparent child sexual abuse material, we report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- We respond to requests from law enforcement and other authorities. The reports people send us are the only information we have to share.
- We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You can also report child sexual exploitation directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.
